What will my treatment be like?

If you’ve been disappointed by more superficial, behavioral therapies, you may find psychoanalytic work much more satisfying and helpful.

You will also feel challenged to think about yourself in new and different ways. There will be times when you feel tremendous shifts, while other times it will feel like nothing is happening at all. There will also be times when you are angry and want to give up. All these experiences are expected; indeed they are necessary.

Like any endeavor in life, psychoanalytic psychotherapy requires commitment and tenacity. Changes accrue and build over time.

“Tell me what you fear and I will tell you what has happened to you.”
